I’m Jean-François Beauchamp, a software developer based in Montreal, Canada.
I’ve been building software for a long time, across different languages, platforms, and generations of technology. These days, I work mostly with C#/.NET and JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience spanning full-stack development, web applications, integrations, databases, and software architecture.
I’m particularly interested in practical uses of AI in software development and in products, as well as local AI tools and the rapidly changing ways we build software. I also enjoy running and tinkering with my own systems, experimenting with new technologies, and building things simply because I want to understand how they work.
This blog started as a place to share solutions to technical problems I encountered rather than keeping them to myself. That’s still largely what it is. I write about things I’ve investigated, fixed, built, or learned—partly in the hope that they might save someone else a few hours, and partly because writing things down is a good way to understand them better.
